KOBAU Glasgitter-Gewebe 5 / 5 is intended for the reinforcement of plasters and fillers in case of plaster surface cracks type A.1 according to the classification in the BFS notice no. 19. When using elastic intermediate coatings, KOBAU Glasgitter-Gewebe 5 / 5 can also be deployed for the crack type B.1. The technique "Reinforcement instead of multiple leveling" allows smoothening of rough substrates such as fibre glass wallpapers or mottled stone plaster in one operation. The KOBAU Glasgitter-Gewebe 5 / 5 is of the non-slip type, watertight, resistant to alkalis, chemicals and is non-fouling.

Plaster reinforcement:
Prepare the surface to be reinforced according to the national regulations and/or BFS notices. Subsequently, apply embedding material according to the instructions of the manufacturer. Embed KOBAU Glasgitter-Gewebe 5 / 5 from the roll or as a ready-cut in the wet coating avoiding wrinkle formation or bubbles. The webs should overlap in a width of approx. 5-10 cm. Subsequently, apply another coat of embedding material uniformly so that the fabric is no longer visible.

KOBAU technique "Reinforcement instead of multiple leveling":
In order to achieve smooth surfaces, apply a suitable filler mechanically or manually on the substrate and comb uniformly using a toothed trowel of 4x6x4 mm. Insert the KOBAU Glasgitter-Gewebe 5 / 5 into the fresh filler and level it completely by means of a smoothening tool with toothed trowel structure below the fabric. The webs should overlap at least 5 cm. The embedding material penetrating the grid structure is to be used for covering and including the overlapping area without any transition.

Extreme roughness or coarse unevenness are to be eliminated prior to carrying out the KOBAU technique "Reinforcement instead of multiple filling" through scraper filling.
