KOBAU optiband is intended for bridging and reinforcing individual cracks and expansion joints in plaster and masonry. For reinforcing joints on prefabricated concrete ceilings / prestressed concrete floors, in the field of dry construction for gypsum boards or fibreboards. KOBAU optiband is a fabric tape consisting of non-slip technical polyester with a narrow-meshed middle strip of 40 mm in width for reinforcement. KOBAU optiband is watertight, weatherproof, resistant to chemicals and non-fouling.

For use inside and outside.

Prepare the joint to be reinforced according to the national regulations, DIN 18363 and / or BFS notices. Subsequently, fill the joint with suitable fillers (elastic / rigid) according to the manufacturer's instructions so that they are level with the surface. Apply elastic reinforcing adhesive covering approximately the width of the tape. Uncoil KOBAU optiband in the centre of the joint and embed avoiding formation of wrinkles. The tape edges should overlap at least 5 cm. Subsequently, apply elastic reinforcing adhesive and smoothen. Repeat this procedure after drying until the fabric tape is completely covered. The further treatment is as required by the surface. In order to achieve areas of uniform structure, we recommend to use KOBAU microlith® heavy fleece or KOBAU Armiera® light fleece.
Subsequent work is to be performed observing the instructions of the manufacturer in each case.
