Field of application / properties

KOBAU Arkoflex® Gewirke is intended for the reinforcement of paint systems in case of cracks originating from the plaster (type B.1 / B.2) as well as dynamic cracks (type C.1 / C2) according to the classification in the BFS notice no. 19. When using flexible reinforcing adhesive as embedding material, KOBAU Arkoflex® Gewirke makes for a gliding paint rein-forcement. KOBAU Arkoflex® Gewirke is a knitted fabric of finished polyester. It is watertight, weatherproof, resistant to chemicals and non-fouling.

Processing

Prepare the surface to be reinforced according to the national regulations and/or BFS notices. Remove loose components from individual cracks, prime the surfaces and in particular the flanks of the cracks. Insert a filling profile (round cord) into cracks of more than 3 mm in width in order to avoid any three-flank adherence. Subsequently, fill the cracks with suitable elastic fillers so that they are level with the surface. When reinforcing dynamic cracks type C, carry out a preliminary reinforcement using bandages of KOBAU Arkoflex® Gewirke of at least 15 cm in width or KOBAU Riss-Brücke®. To accomplish this, apply filled elastic reinforcing adhesive, insert KOBAU Arkoflex® Gewirke into the wet adhesive avoiding any wrinkle formation and bubbles. Slightly press the fabric into the adhesive so that it floats uniformly on the surface. Proceed analogously for the subsequent final reinforcement making sure that the webs overlap at least 5 cm. After drying, apply another coat of embedding material uniformly so that it covers the whole fabric.
Subsequent work is to be performed observing the instructions of the manufacturer in each case.
