Field of application / properties

KOBAU Elastic-Gewebe 10 / 10 is intended for the reinforcement of paint systems in case of cracks originating from the plaster (type B.1 / B.2) as well as dynamic cracks (type C.1 / C.2) according to the classification in the BFS notice no. 19. When using flexible reinforcing adhesive as embedding material, KOBAU Elastic-Gewebe 10 / 10 makes for a gliding paint reinforcement. KOBAU Elastic-Gewebe 10 / 10 is non-slip fabric consisting of finished technical polyester, it is watertight, resistant to chemicals and non-fouling. The fabric adapts itself perfectly around edges and corners. For identification, a red thread is arranged in the middle of the web. The overlapping mark on both sides is provided for ease of working.

Processing

Prepare the substrate to be reinforced according to the national regulations and/or BFS notices. Remove loose components from individual cracks, prime surfaces and in particular the flanks of the cracks. Insert a filling profile (round cord) into cracks of more than 3 mm in width in order to avoid any three-flank adherence. Subsequently, fill the cracks with suitable elastic fillers so that they are level with the surface. When reinforcing dynamic cracks type C, carry out a preliminary reinforcement using bandages of the KOBAU Elastic-Gewebe 10 / 10 of at least 15 cm in width or KOBAU Riss-Brücke®. To accomplish this, apply filled elastic reinforcing adhesive, insert KOBAU Elastic-Gewebe 10 / 10 into the wet adhesive avoiding any wrinkle formation and bubbles. Slightly press the fabric into the adhesive so that it floats uniformly on the surface. Proceed analogously for the subsequent final reinforcement making sure that the webs overlap at least 5 cm. After drying, apply another coat of embedding material uniformly so that it covers the whole fabric.
Subsequent work is to be performed observing the instructions of the manufacturer in each case.
