KOBAU microlith® Maler- und Spachtelvlies
Type of crack / symbol
A.1
Field of application / properties

KOBAU microlith® Maler- und Spachtelvlies is intended for the reinforcement of paint systems in case of plaster surface cracks type A.1 according to the classification in the BFS notice no. 19. The technique "Reinforcement instead of multiple leveling" allows smoothening of rough substrates such as fibre glass wallpapers or mottled stone plaster in one operation. Thanks to the use of a special binder, KOBAU microlith® Maler- und Spachtelvlies is watertight, weatherproof, resistant to chemicals and non-fouling.
KOBAU microlith® Maler- und Spachtelvlies is normaly inflammable and complies with the fire class B 2 according to DIN 4102.

For use inside and outside.

Processing

Paint reinforcement:
Prepare the substrate to be reinforced according to the national regulations and/or BFS notices. Subsequently, apply pasty dispersion paint with a high binder content until saturation using a roller or spray gun. Embed KOBAU microlith® Maler- und Spachtelvlies from the roll or as a ready-cut in the wet paint avoiding wrinkle formation or bubbles. Glue the outside of the roll towards the wall and always apply in the same direction. The webs should overlap in a width of approx. 5 cm. Separate with a double cut and remove both lateral strips. Join the KOBAU microlith® Maler- und Spachtelvlies seamless with a butt joint. Press the butt area against the substrate so that it is level. Subsequently, uniformly apply another coat of embedding material -in wet condition-.

KOBAU technique "Reinforcement instead of multiple leveling":
In order to achieve smooth surfaces, apply a suitable filler mechanically or manually on the substrate and comb uniformly using a toothed trowel of 4x6x4 mm. Insert the KOBAU microlith® Maler- und Spachtelvlies in the fresh filler and level it completely by means of a smoothening tool with toothed trowel structure below the fleece, except for the overlapping area. Proceed in the same way with the next web, perform a double cut, remove the upper and lower strip and cleanly smoothen the area in way of the seam.
